Swansea Schools Registration Notice
The Swansea Public Schools have begun the registration process for students enrolling into kindergarten or first grade for the 2016-2017 school year. Registration will be held in March.  Students enrolling in kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2016; first grade students must be age 6 by the same date.

Children who meet these criteria but will be attending a private school are welcome to participate in the developmental screening portion on registration day.  The purpose of the screening is to find children who may have any of the following problems: seeing, hearing, speaking, getting along with others, physical coordination, or other conditions that would affect learning.

For information on the March registration, please call the Hoyle School at 508-679-4049 or the Gardner School at 508-675-7899.

K.I.D.S. Kids in Direction of Safety Information
In response to former Governor Deval Patrick’s Massachusetts Task Force Report of School Safety and Security, we are now moving toward an enhanced lockdown procedure. We have researched several safety protocols, with regard to responses in the event of an active shooter scenario, and have collaborated with law enforcement to establish an improved safety procedure. We have taken components of other safety protocols and will be using the pieces that we believe are best for our staff and students. The Swansea Public School District will be training staff on how to make sound, potentially lifesaving decisions in the case of an emergency.

Please click a link below to view the letter to parents with detailed information about the enhancements:
