Mountainside Brighter Future College Scholarship (posted 3/20/25)

Addiction can impact people from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, sex, gender, or socioeconomic status. As part of our mission to end the stigma surrounding addiction and help those impacted by substance abuse lead happier, more fulfilling lives, we are offering the Mountainside Brighter Future College Scholarship. With this scholarship, we aim to help students pursue their dreams and passions. We know a brighter future starts with today’s youth and want to enable young people to overcome their struggles. Through a personal essay, applicants will share how their addiction or their loved one’s addiction has affected their life, raising awareness and highlighting the reality of this disease.

The Jennie Friese Scholarship Fund (posted 3/12/25)

The recipient(s) of $5,000 in scholarships, will be a female high school senior continuing their education to a 2 or 4-year accredited trade school, college, or university. Most importantly, the recipient(s) will demonstrate a true passion for life, family, community, and education just like Jennie. The application should include a 250-500 word essay that best describes themselves and why they’re worthy of this award.

The Billy Davock Scholarship (posted 3/12/25)

The recipient(s) of $5,000 in scholarships, will be a male high school senior with plans to continue on to a 2 or 4-year accredited trade school, college, or university. Most importantly, the recipient(s) will demonstrate a true zest for life and adventure, be an active member of their community, and provide examples of ways they have given back to those in need.  Applicants should provide a 250-500 word essay that tells the story of why their life adventures, already experienced or to be experienced, big or small, are so vital to who they are and who they plan to become.

Mark Gardiner Hoyle Memorial Scholarship (posted 3/13/25)

Student recipients of the scholarships are selected by a majority vote of the trustees who give special attention to those who have demonstrated good scholastic aptitude (but they need not be honor students), financial need, and involvement in the athletic program at JCHS. The recipient need not necessarily be a member of an athletic team but may be involved through lending assistance, being a student manager, or being a supporter of school activities.

The annual scholarship program is funded by drama boosters and is an open award presented to students who are graduating seniors. Awards will be presented at the Annual Drama Banquet.

Workforce Pipeline & Retention Initiative Program Scholarship (posted 3/5/25)

This program is grant-funded through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS). With these funds, we are able to provide Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, and Medical Interpreter training and certification scholarships each year. HealthFirst has added a Training Specialist to our team to manage all these training programs, scholarships, and certificates.

The Francelo Lazaro Charitable Foundation (posted 4/8/25)

This Annual Scholarship seeks to identify students who excel and have the potential of making significant contributions to society in the (medical, fashion performing arts) fields. Applicants must be accepted into or currently attending full time or part time (4 credit minimum) program from an accredited institution, junior community college or vocational school, be in good academic standing, show leadership potential, and make an impact on their communities.
